Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF DEIDRE LYNN LEE WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, has called Deidre Lynn Lee from our midst on October 2, 2020; and WHEREAS, Deidre Lynn Abbott born on July 26, 1960 in Harvey, IL to Earlie Mae and the late Melvin Abbott; Deidre accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age under the pastorate of Reverend Napoleon Davis at Second Baptist Church of Harvey, IL; and WHEREAS, Deidre graduated in 1978 from Thornton Township High School in Harvey where she participated in many clubs and extracurricular activities; She continued her education at Columbia College in downtown Chicago; and WHEREAS, Deidre met Ronnie L. Lee at their home church of St. Mark MBC Cathedral under the leadership of the late Bishop William L. Jordan; It did not take long for them to know that they were meant to be together, they dedicated their heart to each other and were united in holy matrimony in August 1997; Deidre was a loving wife and mother who ...

HONORING THE LIFE OF DEIDRE LYNN LEE

 

WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, has called Deidre Lynn Lee from our midst on October 2, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre Lynn Abbott born on July 26, 1960 in Harvey, IL to Earlie Mae and the late Melvin Abbott; Deidre accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age under the pastorate of Reverend Napoleon Davis at Second Baptist Church of Harvey, IL; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre graduated in 1978 from Thornton Township High School in Harvey where she participated in many clubs and extracurricular activities; She continued her education at Columbia College in downtown Chicago; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre met Ronnie L. Lee at their home church of St. Mark MBC Cathedral under the leadership of the late Bishop William L. Jordan; It did not take long for them to know that they were meant to be together, they dedicated their heart to each other and were united in holy matrimony in August 1997; Deidre was a loving wife and mother who never missed a beat balancing motherhood and ministry with near perfection; Deidre was devoted to her family and gave her life to raising her daughters; two biological and two by marriage, to be successful; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre and her husband Bishop Ronnie L. Lee at the leading of the Lord began the ministry of Nehemiah Christian Center Ministries originally in the city of Robbins, IL in February of 2001; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre served faithfully as the First Lady of Nehemiah Christian Center Ministries; The church she helped to build from the ground up;  Deidre served in various roles lending her many talents in service to the Lord, as a member of the Praise Team, Administrator and then serving as Pastor of the Women’s Ministry;  Deidre served along with her Bishop and together with the help of the Lord to build Nehemiah Christian Center Ministries into a ministry that impacts the community of Harvey and surrounding communities and that gives Spiritual empowerment to countless people; Deidre was well loved and respected in the ministry; She was known for her heartwarming smile and for being someone who was genuine and easy to talk to; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre was licensed to preach the gospel in August 2006 and was ordained as a minister of the gospel in September 2010; Deidre endeavored to understand and teach God’s word effectively and accurately; She was a great teacher and preacher; and

 

WHEREAS, Deidre fought a good fight of faith persevering through countless medical challenges; Through her many battles with sickness Deidre never complained, never lost her smile or her faith; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Deborah Sims, Commissioner of the 5th District of Cook County Illinois do hereby offer my deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family of Deidre Lynn Lee; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be presented to the family of Deidre Lynn Lee in her honor and be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body.end
