PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE LIFE OF KIMBERLY (KIM) ANN STRONGS
WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His true and infinite wisdom, has called Kimberly (Kim) Strongs from our midst; and;
WHEREAS, Kim was born on April 1, 1973 in Chicago, IL to Carl Spencer Sr, and Annie B. Roman who proceeded her in death; and
WHEREAS, at an early age, Kim accepted the Lord as her personal savior and was a faithful active member of St. Agatha Catholic Church under the leadership of Father Dowling; and
WHEREAS, Kim was a graduated of George W. Collins High School where she excelled and received numerous recognitions including being featured in Who’s Who Among American High Schools students, in 1989-1990.Member of the Honors Society as well as Principal Scholars. In addition, Kim later attended Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Carbondale, Illinois where she earned her bachelor’s degree in advanced Technical Studies and an Associate Degree in Applied Science-Computer Information System in August of 1996; and
WHEREAS, while attending George W. Collins, Kim met the love of her life and future husband Derrick Strongs Sr; and
WHEREAS, Kim and Derrick were married on September 12, 1998 and to this union two beautiful children were born Derrick Strongs Jr; and Kennedy Ann Strongs whom she loved immensely and very proud of; and
WHEREAS, Kim joined the sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority on March 19, 2000, Lamba Mu Omega Chapter, where she was an active, hardworking, dedicated, supportive member. She served on several committees including NPHC, Step Team, Regional Conference, Joint Founders Day, and Dawson Senior Citizens ; and
WHEREAS, she was a sought -after Information Technology Administrator. She was employed by CHA Housing, Imprint Systems, Department of Aviation, SAFE, Minsky McCormick and Hallagan PC and Fright Car America; and
WHEREAS, the community has lost a wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, friend and Soror in Kimberly (Kim) Ann Storngs. Her presence may be gone but she shall live on in her hearts and she will be immensely missed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Commissioner Dennis Deer, along with the President and Cook County Board of Commissioners, and on behalf of the 5.2 million residents of Cook County, do extend their deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family as well as to the many friends and loved ones for the life of Mrs. Kimberly (Kim) Ann Strongs; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and a suitable copy be presented to the family of Mrs. Kimberly (Kim) Strongs so that her memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
