Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING VIRGINIA LAI FOR HER EXEMPLEMTORY SERVICE AS A SENIOR COORDINATOR WHEREAS Virginia Lai started working at Charters Advisory Senior Living Facility(CASL) as a Social Service Coordinator after graduating from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance; and WHEREAS, Virginia Lai have worked for CASL Senior Housing for over 12 years; and WHEREAS, the senior housing which Virginia Lai works, has 105 residents where 80 % of the residents' primary language is Mandarin Chinese. Though most of the seniors in her care find it difficult to communicate in English, Virginia Lai became the bridge that enjoys helping seniors solve their problems so that they can continue to enjoy life; and WHEREAS,Virginia Lai has exemplifies compassion, dependability, and dignity to all of the residents at the CASL Living Facility. HONORING VIRGINIA LAI FOR HER EXEMPLEMTORY SERVICE AS A SENIOR COORDINATOR

WHEREAS Virginia Lai started working at Charters Advisory Senior Living Facility(CASL) as a Social Service Coordinator after graduating from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Finance; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Lai have worked for CASL Senior Housing for over 12 years; and

WHEREAS, the senior housing which Virginia Lai works, has 105 residents where 80 % of the residents' primary language is Mandarin Chinese. Though most of the seniors in her care find it difficult to communicate in English, Virginia Lai became the bridge that enjoys helping seniors solve their problems so that they can continue to enjoy life; and

WHEREAS,Virginia Lai has exemplifies compassion, dependability, and dignity to all of the residents at the CASL Living Facility. Her principles of caring for others in a way that she would also want to be cared for which is made evident through the help that she provides, in solving their personal needs including reading their personal letters and being a resource for them for their community activities; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Lai believes helping others is not only good for them and a good thing to do, it also makes us happier and healthier too. She believes that giving also connects us to others, creating stronger communities and helping to build a happier society for everyone, it's not all about money - we can also give our time, ideas and energy; and

WHEREAS, Virginia Lai, host the "Get along Arts Club" gathering every weekend (before the pandemic), to encourage each other and share their knowledge in creative arts. The group organizes annual exhibits in Chinese calligraphy and painting to celebrate the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month together with the Chicago Public Library at Chinatown.
