Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING MARGE CONNELLY'S COMMITMENT TO PUBLIC SERVICE WHEREAS, Marge Connelly has lived in the Village of Schaumburg in the 15th District since 1972; and WHEREAS, Marge Connelly has been a long time public servant serving in various capacities over the last four decades; and WHEREAS, she served on the Schaumburg Park Board from 1983 to 1995 including a tenure as Board President; and WHEREAS, additionally, she was appointed in 1997 as a Village of Schaumburg Trustee and was subsequently elected in 1999 and served as a Village Trustee; and WHEREAS, in her 24 years of service as a Trustee, Marge Connelly led on many important initiatives improving the lives of the residents of Schaumburg; and WHEREAS, Marge Connelly served as the Chair of Engineering and Public Works Committee and a member of the 1% for Art Committee, the Prairie Center Arts Foundation Board, and the Schweikher-Langsdorf House Preservation Trust board; and WHEREAS, Marge Connelly's activ...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

HONORING MARGE CONNELLY’S COMMITMENT TO  PUBLIC SERVICE

 

WHEREAS, Marge Connelly has lived in the Village of Schaumburg in the 15th District since 1972; and

 

WHEREAS, Marge Connelly has been a long time public servant serving in various capacities over the last four decades; and

 

WHEREAS, she served on the Schaumburg Park Board from 1983 to 1995 including a tenure as Board President; and

 

WHEREAS, additionally, she was appointed in 1997 as a Village of Schaumburg Trustee and was subsequently elected in 1999 and served as a Village Trustee; and

 

WHEREAS, in her 24 years of service as a Trustee, Marge Connelly led on many important initiatives improving the lives of the residents of Schaumburg; and

 

WHEREAS, Marge Connelly served as the Chair of Engineering and Public Works Committee and a member of the 1% for Art Committee, the Prairie Center Arts Foundation Board, and the Schweikher-Langsdorf House Preservation Trust board; and

 

WHEREAS, Marge Connelly’s active role in projects such as the Schaumburg Golf Club acquisition, Engineering and Public Works Facility Expansion and Renovation, the Renaissance Hotel and Schaumburg Convention Center, and the 90 North Redevelopment helped in the Village of Schaumburg being recognized nationally; and

 

WHEREAS, Cook County and the Cook County Board of Commissioners have had the honor of working with Marge Connelly and the Village of Schaumburg and she has proved to be a wonderful partner; and

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby honor Trustee Marge Connelly for her commitment to public service; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that suitable copies of this resolution are presented to Trustee Marge Connelly.
