PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING VETRESS M. BOYCE FOR TRANSFORMING LIVES THROUGH PROFESSIONAL AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT IN COOK COUNTY
WHEREAS, Vetress M. Boyce raised in the North Lawndale community and is a graduate from John Marshall High School; and
WHEREAS, she was employed for 25 years in corporate America, starting as the Secretary and working her way up to become President of Operations; and
WHEREAS, Vetress M. Boyce is currently the President, CEO of Boyce Enterprise, a WBE/MBE Certified Medical Supply and PPE business. In addition, she also runs a successful operated Beauty Supply store located on the West Side of Chicago in the North Lawndale Community; and
WHEREAS, Boyce Enterprise supplies products to local businesses, residents, and various government entities throughout Cook County; and
WHEREAS, Vetress M. Boyce has provided consultant services to various local minority businesses where she assisted in the growth of sales and contracts. She has also collaborated with Women organizations to assist them in acquiring their 501Cs', Articles of Incorporations, Grants, and TAX ID numbers; and
WHEREAS, in 2022, Vetress M. Boyce was selected as the Vice President of the Conrad Worrill National Community Reparations Commission and the City of Chicago Reparations Commission and;
WHEREAS, from 1999-2002 she was one of the first American African female developers in the historic Bronzeville community; and
WHEREAS, Cook County government hereby congratulates Vetress Boyce by transforming lives through professional and community engagement.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that, I Cook County Commissioner Dennis Deer 2nd District, along with President Toni Preckwinkle, the Cook County Board of Commissioners and on behalf of the 5.2 million residents of Cook County takes great pleasure in honoring and celebrating Vetress M. Boyce for transforming lives through professional and community engagement throughout Cook County.
