After case assignment, Specialists make an initial assessment of the needs of each case, Specialists engage in case assessment and planning, conduct case planning, and provide case status information and direct service to victims.  Victim Specialists accompany victims to court and make phone, e-mail, and letter notifications to victims. Specialists assist victims with writing and presenting victim impact statements.
