Summary: The JAC respectfully requests authority to extend and increase a contract with Safer Foundation to continue providing services for the Safety and Justice Challenge’s Frequently Impacted Strategy. The Frequently Impacted Strategy provides peer support to individuals who have been arrested and brought to Cook County Jail four or more times in a year. Services provided by Safer Foundation Peer Navigators, help connect clients with mentors and services to help address issues that may contribute to engagement with the criminal justice system. These services would continue to be funded by an existing grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation.
