Summary: The Department of Risk Management respectfully submits this item requesting authorization for the Chief Procurement Officer to renew and increase contract # 1830-17125 with Caremark PCS Health, LLC (Caremark). Caremark provides group pharmacy benefits to all members and their dependents covered by health plans administered by the Department of Risk Management. The proposed amendment will allow the County to exercise the second of two, one-year options for renewal. Contract #1830-17125 was originally awarded through the Joint Procurement Request for Proposals (RFP) pursuant to Section 34-142 of the Procurement Code, and the Government Joint Purchasing Act, 30 ILCS 525 and was approved by the Cook County Board of Commissioners on November 4, 2018. The County and partnering agencies (City of Chicago, Chicago Park District, Chicago Transit Authority, City Colleges of Chicago, and the County Employee and Officer's Annuity and Benefit Fund of Cook County and Forest Preserve District Employees' Annuity and Benefit Fund of Cook County (Cook County Pension Fund)) through the Joint RFP publicly advertised in February 2018, sought Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) services.
