PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE ELEVATION OF BISHOP DAVID TODD WHITTLEY TO BISHOP AND HIS ONGOING SERVICE TO HIS COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, Bishop Whittley is the youngest son of Elder Robert Whittley Sr. and Supervisor Mother Dr. LuVonia Whittley, who instilled in him the importance of honoring God, loving family, and serving in ministry; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Whittley is a product of Roosevelt University, with post graduate studies at C.H. Mason Theological Seminary, Trinity Christian College, and Moody Bible Institute; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Whittley is devoted husband to his beautiful and devoted wife of 25 years, Dr. Chandra Whittley. They are the proud parents of David Jonathan and Sydney Nicole; and
WHEREAS, After 15 successful years in the banking industry, David and Dr. Chandra Whittley founded Kingdom Financial Consultants, a faith-based firm that secured over $15 million dollars in loans for clients in Chicago, Detroit, Peoria, Indiana and St. Louis; and
WHEREAS, In August 2004, at the passing of his grandfather - Auxiliary Bishop Bennie Allison, then Elder David Todd Whittley was appointed by Bishop Willie J. Chambliss to serve as Pastor of the historic Corinthian Temple Church of God in Christ. Since that celebrated moment, Bishop and First Lady Whittley have continued to lead with care, compassion, creativity and commitment to God's work and God's people. Their church is a model for effective congregational empowerment and community engagement; and
WHEREAS, Continuing the vision of Bishop Bennie Allison, Pastor Whittley serves as President of United for Better Living, providing a range of programs to address the spiritual, social, economic, and educational needs of individuals and families in the community; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Whittley is the visionary, purpose-driven Chairman of the C.A.R.E. Project, a $25 million economic development initiative on Chicago's West Side; and
