Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE CANARYVILLE VETERANS ASSOCIATION WHEREAS in 1993, the citizens of Chicago's Canaryville neighborhood, in recognition of the need for a community-centered organization to provide for the social and supportive requirements of local veterans, founded and established the Canaryville Veterans Association, and WHEREAS the Canaryville Veterans Association is known for its great camaraderie, and welcoming environment where veterans of military service in all branches, and of all generations can gather in fellowship, and WHEREAS the Canaryville Veterans Association has marked thirty years of service to the area's veterans, with a large and growing membership base of active and dedicated veterans, and WHEREAS today the Canaryville Veterans Association is a thriving, vibrant organization, looked upon as a widely-respected community asset, and beneficiaries of its charitable support include many families in need throughout the community, and WHEREAS the Ca...

WHEREAS in 1993, the citizens of Chicago's Canaryville neighborhood, in recognition of the need for a community-centered organization to provide for the social and supportive requirements of local veterans, founded and established the Canaryville Veterans Association, and

WHEREAS the Canaryville Veterans Association is known for its great camaraderie, and welcoming environment where veterans of military service in all branches, and of all generations can gather in fellowship, and

WHEREAS the Canaryville Veterans Association has marked thirty years of service to the area's veterans, with a large and growing membership base of active and dedicated veterans, and

WHEREAS today the Canaryville Veterans Association is a thriving, vibrant organization, looked upon as a widely-respected community asset, and beneficiaries of its charitable support include many families in need throughout the community, and

WHEREAS the Canaryville Veterans Association is proud of its many friends and members who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces, with members having fought in World War I, World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan, and

WHEREAS the Canaryville Veterans Association has gathered on this day, February 18, 2023, at the Stadium Club at White Sox Park to celebrate the 30th Anniversary, where members and their families gathered to reflect on the accomplishments of the past and renew their commitment to serving veterans of all ages and backgrounds, now therefore

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, that the Board does hereby extend its congratulations to all the members, past and present, of the Canaryville Veterans Association for 30 years of outstanding service to the community, and offers its best wishes for continued success, and
