Cahill was the cherished Grandpa of Anderson; and WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was the fond brother-in-law of Mark and Marcia Anderson and Dan (Sharon) Firlit, uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews; and WHEREAS Michael J. MICHAEL J. CAHILL, IN MEMORIAM

 

WHEREAS Almighty God in his infinite wisdom has called Michael J. Cahill from our midst; and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was the beloved husband of Connie (nee Anderson); and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was the loving father of Mike (ISP District-Chicago), Dawn, Brian (CPD 009), Bridget; and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was the cherished Grandpa of Anderson; and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was the fond brother-in-law of Mark and Marcia Anderson and Dan (Sharon) Firlit, uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews; and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was a 38-year veteran of the Chicago Fire Department, a member of the Chicago Fire Fighters Union Local 2 since 1967, and was the First District Business Agent from 1987 through 2005; and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was a proud member of the Brighton Park Alumni Association and the Gaelic Fire Brigade; and

 

WHEREAS Michael J. Cahill was a fan of the Chicago White Sox, Green Bay Packers, Notre Dame football, Duke basketball and Mount Carmel High School, and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events; and

 

WHEREAS all who knew him will attest that Michael J. Cahill was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family; now therefore

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and many friends of Michael J. Cahill and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of same be tendered to the family of Michael J. Cahill that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
