Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE LIFE OF LIN BREHMER WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer was born August 1954 in New York and grew up in Queens, and; WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer graduated from Colgate University in upstate New York where he met his wife Sarah. He began his radio career at WQBK-FM in Albany, before coming to Chicago in 1984 he became music director at WXRT, and; WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer had hosted shows on WXRT since 1991, endearing himself to thousands of fans with his infectious enthusiasm, he ended each daily program: "Never take anything for granted, it's great to be alive." Lin Brehmer was a friend to so many Chicagoans, though they never met him, and; WHEREAS, he was a tremendous fan of music, longtime Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed sailing, and; WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer was a supporter of the ALS community, he was a spokesman for events and fundraisers for nearly three decades, and; WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer had a great love for Chicago, the Metro, the Riviera, the Cubs, ...

REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE LIFE OF LIN BREHMER

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer was born August 1954 in New York and grew up in Queens, and;

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer graduated from Colgate University in upstate New York where he met his wife Sarah. He began his radio career at WQBK-FM in Albany, before coming to Chicago in 1984 he became music director at WXRT, and;

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer had hosted shows on WXRT since 1991, endearing himself to thousands of fans with his infectious enthusiasm, he ended each daily program: “Never take anything for granted, it’s great to be alive.” Lin Brehmer was a friend to so many Chicagoans, though they never met him, and;

 

WHEREAS, he was a tremendous fan of music, longtime Chicago Cubs fan,  and enjoyed sailing, and;

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer was a supporter of the ALS community, he was a spokesman for events and fundraisers for nearly three decades, and;

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer had a great love for Chicago, the Metro, the Riviera, the Cubs, bands, and the South Side Irish Parade;

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer, passed Sunday, January 22nd after a long battle with cancer, and;

 

WHEREAS, Lin Brehmer leaves behind his beloved wife, Sarah and their son, Wilson. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on forever. Chicago will miss their best friend.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Cook County Board of Commissioners and Residents of Cook County remember and honor the wonderful life of Lin Brehmer.
