PROPOSED RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION HONORING KADEN MARTSCHENKO ON ACHIEVING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT
WHEREAS, Kaden Martschenko of Arlington Heights has reached the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, one must take on leadership roles within the troop and their community; earn a minimum of 21 merit badges that include first aid safety, civics, business, and the environment; and complete a large community service project; and
WHEREAS, across the nation only 6% of Scouts achieve this impressive distinction; and
WHEREAS, Kaden’s Eagle Scout service project was a landscape beautification project at Clearbrook, an Arlington Heights-based organization whose mission is to empower adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities to fully live their lives to the furthest extent possible; and
WHEREAS, Kaden led a team of scouts and adults to remove old planter boxes and debris, build new planters, and plant new flowers and bushes to improve the aesthetics at the Clearbrook facility to make it more welcoming for their clients; and
WHEREAS, Outside of Eagle Scouts, Kaden is an accomplished water polo player having competed with Prospect High School’s Water Polo team, and is a member of the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program; and
WHEREAS, these projects and overall commitment to his community shows tremendous dedication and leadership; and
WHEREAS, Cook County is grateful for the work of young people to improve and lead within their communities; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby honor Kaden Martschenko on his significant achievement of reaching the rank of Eagle Scout and for his great accomplishments in and out of Troop 401; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that suitable copies of this resolution are presented to Kaden Martschenko and Troop 401.
