HONORING THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF TORO’S CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION

 

WHEREAS, Toro Construction Corporation is one of the fastest-growing Hispanic/Latino construction companies; and

 

WHEREAS, Toro is a minority, women-owned business and has been active in the Chicagoland area for over a decade; and

 

WHEREAS, as a certified minority general contractor, Toro fearlessly takes on projects of all sizes, offering not only construction expertise but also invaluable project management services to coordinate specialty trades for both commercial and residential endeavors; and

 

WHEREAS, Toro also provides design input and engineering solutions as additional valuable services to their clients; and

 

WHEREAS, Toro employs over 110 people, many of whom are from historically disadvantaged communities, and have completed 300 projects totaling over $150 million in value and almost 1.5 million work hours; and

 

WHEREAS, one of Toro’s main end goals is to work as a solar contractor without the need for a partnership with an experienced, well-capitalized solar developer; and

 

WHEREAS, on behalf of Toro Construction Corporation, Luiz Vazquez received the General Contractor of the Year award, awarded by the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA); and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby recognize and honor the 10th Anniversary of the Toro Construction Corporation; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the proceedings of this Honorable Body and that a suitable copy of this resolution is presented to the Toro Construction Corporation in honor of its outstanding achievements and its 10th anniversary.
