PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING CONRADY JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL ON RECEIVING THE 2017 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL AWARD
WHEREAS, the Cook County Board of Commissioners are proud to recognize excellence in local school districts; and
WHEREAS, the Cook County Board of Commissioners recognizes the importance of local school districts in educating, developing and preparing youth for adulthood; and
WHEREAS, the North Palos School District 117 and Conrady Junior High School continue to demonstrate excellence in education by receiving the coveted 2017 National Blue Ribbon Award in the category of Exemplary High-Performing schools; and
WHEREAS, Conrady Junior High School was the only junior high school in the South Cook Region to win the coveted award and one of only nine Title I schools in the country to be named a National Blue Ribbon winner; and
WHEREAS, the National Blue Ribbon Award is the highest honor a school can receive, as only 342 schools received this award in 2017; and
WHEREAS, the National Blue Ribbons Schools Program noted that great results are not always from a cutting-edge idea or innovative programming but rather from a combination of passion, care and focus on what is important, and that Conrady is the epitome of these qualities; and
WHEREAS, an achievement of this magnitude requires excellence and dedication at all levels, from the students, parents, staff, community, board of education and the administration; and
WHEREAS, this dedication towards excellence is reflected in the Conrady Junior High School motto, “Be the Best for the World”; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners congratulate the students, faculty and administrators at Conrady Junior High School on their achievement of excellence in education; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy be tendered to Conrady Junior High School in recognition of their 2017 National Blue Ribbon School Award.
