WHEREAS, Bishop Tyree Beard is the esteemed Senior Leader and Establishmentarian of The Movement Church Chicago, a thriving non-denominational ministry committed to advancing the Kingdom message of Jesus Christ and fostering transformative relationships within communities throughout Cook County and beyond; and

 

WHEREAS, The Movement Church Chicago is proudly located in the First District of Cook County in Oak Park, Illinois, where it serves as a beacon of faith, service, and community engagement for residents, families, and individuals across the western suburbs and surrounding communities; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tyree Beard has demonstrated dynamic leadership and visionary ministry, transcending denominational and cultural boundaries through apostolic preaching and teaching, the prophetic ministry exercised with integrity and accuracy, and a steadfast commitment to spiritual growth, community empowerment, and faith-based leadership; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tyree Beard answered the call to ministry at an early age, delivering his first sermon at the age of sixteen, and was later licensed, ordained, and affirmed as a Prophet under the guidance of Bishop Woodrow Sims at the age of nineteen, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey of service to God and humanity; and

 

WHEREAS, throughout his ministry, Bishop Tyree Beard faithfully served in various leadership roles, including as an armor bearer and Youth Pastor under the tutelage of his spiritual father, Archbishop William Hudson III, demonstrating humility, discipline, and a deep commitment to mentorship and spiritual development; and

 

WHEREAS, in obedience to the call of God and with a vision to impact lives and communities, Bishop Tyree Beard founded the City of David Church on April 26, 2013, which has since grown into The Movement Church Chicago, a vibrant and expanding faith community dedicated to strengthening families, uplifting individuals, and cultivating a culture of faith, service, and transformation; and

 

WHEREAS, The Movement Church Chicago reached a significant milestone in December 2022 with the acquisition of a new church facility, symbolizing growth, stability, and the continued expansion of its mission to provide life-changing spiritual experiences and community engagement opportunities; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tyree Beard has remained committed to lifelong learning and theological excellence, completing his Master of Divinity degree in May 2025 and demonstrating an ongoing dedication to scholarship, leadership development, and the advancement of faith-based education; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tyree Beard was consecrated as a Bishop in July 2022, where he now serves faithfully on the General Board of Bishops and as the Prelate for the Western Region of Pilgrim Assemblies International, Inc., providing guidance, oversight, and spiritual leadership to churches and communities; and

 

WHEREAS, in recognition of his steadfast leadership, spiritual authority, and commitment to advancing the mission of the Church, Bishop Tyree Beard was most recently elevated and officially appointed as the 2nd Assistant to the Presiding Prelate of Pilgrim Assemblies International, further affirming his trusted role in providing executive-level spiritual counsel, organizational leadership, and denominational oversight within the fellowship; and

 

WHEREAS, in recognition of his spiritual leadership, moral witness, and commitment to advancing the principles of justice, faith, and community uplift consistent with the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Bishop Tyree Beard was humbly inducted on April 9, 2026, into the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers & Laity at Morehouse College, joining a distinguished body of clergy and faith leaders dedicated to promoting service, social responsibility, and transformative leadership rooted in faith; and

 

WHEREAS, Bishop Tyree Beard has been faithfully married to his wife, Jennifer, for twenty-five years, and together they are the proud parents of three sons and one daughter, exemplifying the values of love, unity, and faith that serve as the foundation of both his household and his ministry; and

 

WHEREAS, through his leadership, compassion, and dedication to spiritual and community development, Bishop Tyree Beard and The Movement Church Chicago have become pillars of hope, faith, and service within the First District of Cook County and the broader region, making a lasting and meaningful impact on individuals, families, and communities;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby honor and celebrate Bishop Tyree Beard for his faithful leadership, visionary ministry, and unwavering commitment to serving God and community within the First District of Cook County and throughout the region; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this body recognizes The Movement Church Chicago, located in the First District of Cook County in Oak Park, Illinois, as a vital institution of faith, fellowship, and community transformation, and commends its continued growth, service, and dedication to uplifting lives and strengthening communities; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be presented to Bishop Tyree Beard as a symbol of our respect, appreciation, and recognition of his enduring contributions to faith, leadership, and community service.
