RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING INDEPENDENT RETAILER MONTH AND HONORING THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE IN COOK COUNTY'S 10TH DISTRICT

WHEREAS, Independent Retailer Month is celebrated each July to highlight the importance of small, locally owned businesses to our communities, economies, and neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, independent retailers are the backbone of Cook County's diverse economy, providing jobs, goods, services, and community spaces that enrich the lives of residents and visitors alike; and

WHEREAS, the 10th District of Cook County is home to vibrant and resilient business corridors that thrive thanks to the tireless efforts of local Chambers of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, these Chambers of Commerce advocate for neighborhood businesses, provide essential programming and technical assistance, organize community events, promote shop-local campaigns, and foster connections among business owners, residents, and local government; and

WHEREAS, the following Chambers of Commerce, serving communities in the 10th District, are deserving of special recognition for their ongoing contributions to the vitality and sustainability of the local economy:
