PROPOSED RESOLUTION
IN HONOR OF MASTER SERGEANT CHRISTINE JASTCZEMSKI'S RETIREMENT FROM THE ARMY RESERVE AFTER MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, after graduating from Moraine Valley Community College and the Defense Information School, Master Sergeant Christine Jastczemski enlisted in the Army Reserve as a Private (PV2) on March 12, 1990; and
WHEREAS, MSG Jastczemski's first assignment was with the 318th Press Camp Headquarters as a Broadcast Journalist; and
WHEREAS, in the multi-national exercise known as Returning of Forces to Germany (REFORGER), MSG Jastczemski demonstrated her skills in photography and instructed Communication skills to foreign nationals, and was captured on videotape with President Clinton addressing the Boy Scouts at the National Boy Scout Jamboree; and
WHEREAS, MSG Jastczemski was promoted into the 93rd Psychological Operation (PSYOP) Company, later to become the 17th PSYOP Battalion, and was selected as a Media Team Leader for Cobra Gold, where she created a 21-day lesson plan to teach Thai soldiers how to develop a storyboard, record, collect and edit both A and B roll(s) and document significant training throughout the exercise; and
WHEREAS, MSG Jastczemski was promoted into the 85th Division (Training Support), as a Public Affairs Specialist and writer for the "Custer Dispatch" later to become the "Custer Spirit;" and
WHEREAS, MSG Jastczemski was mobilized in 2005 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom as the 181st Infantry Brigade, Chief, Public Affairs, where she instructed Public Affairs techniques to over 1,500 soldiers; and
WHEREAS, MSG Jastczemski was the layout Editor and Chief Editor of the 181st BDE Newsletter, instructor for Unit Public Affairs Representatives and a Unit Victims Advocate; and
WHEREAS, her last assignment was with the 2nd Battalion, 339th Regiment as Chief Instructor, Safety NCOIC and Public Affairs Officer under the Special Staff, Command Section
