PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING RAMI DOUKKY FOR 31 YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO COOK COUNTY HEALTH
WHEREAS, Dr. Rami Doukky, MD, MSc, MBA, has devoted 31 years of distinguished service to Cook County Health, beginning his career at the historic Cook County Hospital in 1995 and serving as an attending cardiologist since 2002; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Doukky served as Chairman of the Division of Cardiology from 2014 to 2024, providing visionary leadership that strengthened cardiovascular care, education, research, and quality throughout Cook County Health; and
WHEREAS, in 2022, Dr. Doukky became the Founding Medical Director of the Cook County Health Cardiovascular Service Line, where he developed and implemented a comprehensive system of cardiovascular services, including advanced cardiac imaging, structural heart disease, electrophysiology, pulmonary embolism intervention, lipid and cardiovascular genetics, and specialized HIV cardiovascular care; and
WHEREAS, under his leadership, Cook County Health achieved national recognition for cardiovascular quality and excellence, including the National Association of Counties Achievement Award in 2024 and the American Heart Association Commitment to Quality Award in 2025; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his academic accomplishments and contributions to medicine, Dr. Doukky was appointed Professor of Medicine and Radiology at Rush Medical College in 2014; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Doukky has made significant contributions to medical education and research, mentoring hundreds of trainees and physicians, authoring more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, and serving as principal investigator on grants totaling more than $1 million; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Doukky’s leadership extends nationally through his service as Vice President of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and his upcoming service as President in 2028; and
