RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF HOYLE DAVID MARSHALL III
WHEREAS, the iconic hip-hop artist, athlete, and statesman known as Treizdope was born Hoyle David Marshall III, in Chicago, on September 15, 1988, to Hoyle David Jr. and Kimberly Cecilia Marshall; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope received his primary education in private schools and the Chicago Public Schools and his secondary education at Dawson Skill Center; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope also developed skills in acting, martial arts, and dance while studying at ETA Chicago Theater; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope developed freestyle skills in mic-controlling, freestyle hip-hop lyricism, spoken-word poetry, a talented singing vocalist; and studied broadcasting, digital media, and editing at Illinois Media School; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope signed up to compete in all Five Hip-Hop Elements of MC'ing, DJ'ing, Dance, Visual Art, and the Quintathlon Olympics, Chicagoland's first professionally hip-hop sporting competition held in October 2023; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope completed in all six Cook County Hip-Hop Olympics competitions for adults and received the highest marks from the Hip-Hop Olympics judges; and
WHEREAS, just after a hip-hop performance, and shortly before graduation from Illinois Media School, Treizdope was killed on January 21, 2024, at age of 35, in a hit-and-run homicide, using a stolen SUV; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope leaves behind daughter, Natalie, his mother, Kimberly Marshall, a host of relatives, connections, and extended family; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope's family is transforming the tragedy and their grief into a call for a proposed Pedestrian Traffic Safety Bill of Rights, which his mother, Kimberly Marshall, has initially petitioned the Chicago City Council's Pedestrian and Traffic Safety Committee for; and
WHEREAS, Treizdope was aspiring to pursue a career of civic engagement, organizing and action, including further development and expansion of the Cook County Hip-Hop Olympics; and
