PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING AND CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF KAREN POOLE
WHEREAS, On Sunday, March 8, 2015, God in His own way and in His infinite wisdom called to His eternal reward Karen Poole; and
WHEREAS, Karen Poole was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 23, 1962 to Robert Brown, Jr. and Ruby McCruel; and
WHEREAS, Karen Poole had a passion for public service and dedicated her career towards educating and mentoring youth that have special needs and challenges; and
WHEREAS, Karen Poole will forever be remembered for her service in the Chicago Public Schools as an educator at the Ray Graham Training Center High School, where she had a positive influence in the lives of students confronted with moderate to severe disabilities; and
WHEREAS, Karen Poole courageously fought a twenty three year battle with brain cancer; and through her resilience and perseverance, Karen was an inspiration to all those who knew her; and
WHEREAS, On April 12, 1996, Karen married Lester Poole, Sr. and they enjoyed twenty two happy years together, separated only by her transition from this earthly life on March 8, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Karen Lewis dearly loved her family and friends; she was always full of life and recognized as a beautiful person with a great personality that was always willing to help others no matter the occasion; her loving and caring spirit will be missed by all that knew her.
BE IT RESOLVED, That the Cook County Board President and Commissioners of the Cook County Board, will gather together on the 29th Day of April, 2015 A.D., to express their honor and sorrow on the passing of Karen Poole, and will extend to her family, friends, and community their sincere condolences; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution will be prepared and presented to the family of Karen Poole.
