PROPOSED RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION HONORING DEIDRE SMITH FOR HER EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO COOK COUNTY HEALTH AND THE PEOPLE OF COOK COUNTY.
WHEREAS, Deidre Smith has dedicated over three decades of distinguished service to Cook County, including 20 years at Cook County Health, 5 years at the Chicago Housing Authority, and 10 years with the City of Chicago, providing outstanding administrative and executive support across multiple departments; and
WHEREAS, throughout her tenure, Deidre has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to public service, ensuring the smooth operation of critical functions and contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of Cook County Health; and
WHEREAS, Deidre began her Cook County Health career in 2007 in the Department of Budget under Director Pamela Pitts, advanced to the Cost and Reimbursement Department supporting Robert Vais, and later provided executive support to Dr. Rudolph Kumapley, Chair of the Division of Medicine, and Dr. Issac Paintsil, Chair of Hospital Medicine; and
WHEREAS, over the years, she has been guided and inspired by notable leaders, including Presidents John H. Stroger Jr. and Todd Stroger, Commissioner Stanley Moore, Alderwoman Lorraine Dixon and Alderwoman Michelle Harris, and Senator Donne Trotter, embodying the principles of servant leadership and dedication to the public good; and
WHEREAS, beyond her administrative excellence, Deidre has generously assisted colleagues in preparing resolutions and official documents, reflecting her mentorship, professionalism, and commitment to the development of others; and
WHEREAS, her unwavering dedication, expertise, and compassionate service have left an enduring impact on Cook County Health, its staff, and the communities it serves; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Cook County Board of Commissioners, that we honor and commend Deidre Smith for her outstanding contributions, her commitment to public servic...
