Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION RESOLUTION HONORING DR. JOYCE J. JONES WHEREAS, Dr. Joyce J. Jones recently retired after a distinguished 14-year career at Richard J. Daley College, City Colleges of Chicago, where she inspired students as an Adjunct Professor, Mentor, and Faculty Coordinator in Biological Sciences; and WHEREAS, with over 30 years in education, including service as a tenured science educator in the Chicago Public Schools, Dr. Jones has dedicated her life to teaching, mentoring, and advancing opportunities in STEM for students of all backgrounds; and WHEREAS, Dr. Jones holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, completed a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiovascular Physiology, and has contributed widely to research, publications, and presentations both nationally and internationally; and WHEREAS, Dr. Jones has served her community through STEM outreach, faith-based initiatives, and as CEO of Faithful 1, Bridges of Hope, and Hope4Us, embod...

RESOLUTION HONORING DR. JOYCE J. JONES

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Joyce J. Jones recently retired after a distinguished 14-year career at Richard J. Daley College, City Colleges of Chicago, where she inspired students as an Adjunct Professor, Mentor, and Faculty Coordinator in Biological Sciences; and

 

WHEREAS, with over 30 years in education, including service as a tenured science educator in the Chicago Public Schools, Dr. Jones has dedicated her life to teaching, mentoring, and advancing opportunities in STEM for students of all backgrounds; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Jones holds a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences, completed a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellowship in Cardiovascular Physiology, and has contributed widely to research, publications, and presentations both nationally and internationally; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Jones has served her community through STEM outreach, faith-based initiatives, and as CEO of Faithful 1, Bridges of Hope, and Hope4Us, embodying leadership, service, and a commitment to improving the lives of others; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Jones has been recognized repeatedly for her exemplary contributions, including certificates of appreciation from Commissioner Stanley Moore and Senator Elgie R. Sims, Jr., and a nomination for the Illinois Community College Trustees Association’s Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member Award; and

 

WHEREAS, Dr. Jones’s career stands as a testament to lifelong learning, multicultural engagement, mentorship, and the power of education to transform lives; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board honors Dr. Joyce J. Jones for her extraordinary service to education, research, and the community, and extends its gratitude for her unwavering dedication, leadership, and positive impact; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Jones as a lasting tribute to her remarkable achievements and service.
