PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

APPROVAL OF SALARY SCHEDULES NEGOTIATED BETWEEN THE CHIEF JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF COOK COUNTY AND THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME), COUNCIL 31, LOCAL 3477, AFL-CIO, REPRESENTING THE JUVENILE PROBATION OFFICERS

 

WHEREAS, the Illinois Public Employee Labor Relations Act (5 ILCS 315/1 et seq.) has established regulations regarding collective bargaining with a union; and

 

WHEREAS, the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Council 31, Local 3477, AFL-CIO, representing the Juvenile Probation Officers will expire November 30, 2025 and an Extension Agreement has been entered into between the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Council 31, Local 3477, AFL-CIO, to extend the term of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the period of December 1, 2025 through November 30, 2027;

 

WHEREAS, salary adjustments and general wage increases are reflected in the salary schedules included in the collective bargaining agreement negotiated between the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Council 31, Local 3477, AFL-CIO, representing the Juvenile Probation Officers; and

 

The Rates of Pay provision in the extended collective bargaining agreement shall be amended as follows:

 

(a)                     All employees actively employed on December 1, 2025, shall receive a one-time lump sum payment in the amount of $2,500. 

 

(b)                     Effective the first full pay period on or after December 1, 2025, the pay rates for all job classifications shall be increased by 2.0%.

 

(c)                     Effective the first full pay period on or after June 1, 2026, the pay rates for all job classifications shall be increased by 2.0%.

 

(d)                     Effective the first full pay period on or after December 1, 2026, the pay rates for all job classifications shall be increased by 4.0%.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby approve the salary schedules as negotiated between the Chief Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), Council 31, Local 3477, AFL-CIO, representing the Juvenile Probation Officers provided by the Bureau of Human Resources.
