PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORABLE HARRY DANIEL LEINENWEBER, IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has called Harry Daniel Leinenweber from our midst, and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber was the beloved husband of the Honorable Lynn Morley Martin, and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber was the loving father of Jane Dunn Campeau, John Dunn Leinenweber, Thomas More (Martha) Leinenweber, Stephen Becket Leinenweber, and Justin Lennon (Jennifer Schultz) Leinenweber; his two stepdaughters Julia (Michael) Keelty and Caroline (Beau) Delafield and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber was the cherished grandfather of twenty-three grandchildren, Robert (Erica), Sarah (Michael) Nixon (nee Campeau), Andrew, and Shannon Campeau, Jack, Simone, and Cora Leinenweber, Katie (Charlie) Ahlstrom (nee Leinenweber), Tommy (Caitlyn), Peter (Kate), Mary, Betsy, and Annie Leinenweber, Becket and Isabel Leinenweber, Ralph and Harry Daniel Leinenweber II, Caroline (Bryan) Casey (nee Keelty), Carrie (Thomas) Kelly (nee Keelty), and Annabel Keelty, and Adelaide, Finley, and Mason Delafield; seven great-grandchildren, Nora and Claire Casey, Mary and Hayes Kelly, Jack and Annie Ahlstrom, and William Campeau, and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber was the beloved son of Emily (nee Lennon) and Harry Dean Leinenweber, Sr., and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber was preceded in death by his brothers, John Charles and Harry Dean Leinenweber Jr., and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber studied history at the University of Notre Dame where he played flute in the Band of the Fighting Irish and later earned his law degree from the University of Chicago, and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber entered private practice in Joliet where he raised his children with his first wife, the late Geraldine Dunn Leinenweber, and
WHEREAS Harry Daniel Leinenweber was nominated in 1985 by President Ronald Reagan to the U.S. District court for the Northern District of Illinois where he served for nearly 40 years, and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Harry Daniel Leinenweber was known for his comprehensive knowledge of the law and reputation for fairness on the bench, and
WHEREAS all who knew him will attest that Harry Daniel Leinenweber was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and many friends of Harry Daniel Leinenweber and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of same be tendered to the family of Harry Daniel Leinenweber that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
