PROPOSED RESOLUTION
GEORGE HENDRY, IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has called George Hendry from our midst, and
WHEREAS George Hendry was the devoted husband of Mary (nee Cartan) for 55 years, and
WHEREAS George Hendry was the loving father of John “Jack” (Maria) Hendry, and Elizabeth “Bess” (David) Oufnac, and the late George Hendry, and
WHEREAS George Hendry was the cherished grandfather of Ross and Sadie Hendry and George and Mary Oufnac, and
WHEREAS George Hendry was the beloved son of the late George and Nell Hendry, and
WHEREAS George Hendry was the dear brother of Robert Hendry and the late Mary Catherine Paci (Robert) and James Hendry (Earline) and fond brother-in-law of Thomas (Lorrie) Cartan, and many nieces and nephews, and
WHEREAS George Hendry was the best friend of the late Patrick Coakley and one of the founders of the South Side Irish St. Patrick’s Day Parade (1979), and
WHEREAS George Hendry grew up in the parish of St. Sabina Church and attended Leo High School, and
WHEREAS George Hendry attended Loras College in Dubuque Iowa, graduating in 1967, married his beloved Mary in 1969 and moved to their current home on the southside to raise their children, and
WHEREAS, George Hendry coached his children’s sports teams and always put family first, and
WHEREAS all who knew him will attest that George Hendry was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and many friends of George Hendry and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of same be tendered to the family of George Hendry that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
