Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION JAIME IRENE JONES, IN MEMORIAM WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones (nee Humphrey) passed away peacefully on August 14th in her Woodridge home, surrounded by her family, after a 10-year journey with breast cancer; and WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones was born in Chicago and grew up as one of three sisters. A 2000 graduate of Willowbrook High School, Jamie met David Jones in 1999, who would later become the love of her life. After being set up to attend a wedding in 2003-a date Jamie would fondly call her "Best Date Ever"-Jamie and Dave were married in 2007; and WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones is survived by her beloved husband, David, and her children, Nicholas, Emma, Irena, and Michaela; and WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones was the devoted sister of Michelle Bukowski and Beth Schneider; and WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones faithfully served the people of Cook County Government for 20 years; and WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones began working for the Cook County Highway Department as a summer aide,...

JAIME IRENE JONES, IN MEMORIAM

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones (nee Humphrey) passed away peacefully on August 14th in her Woodridge home, surrounded by her family, after a 10-year journey with breast cancer; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones was born in Chicago and grew up as one of three sisters. A 2000 graduate of Willowbrook High School, Jamie met David Jones in 1999, who would later become the love of her life. After being set up to attend a wedding in 2003-a date Jamie would fondly call her “Best Date Ever”-Jamie and Dave were married in 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones is survived by her beloved husband, David, and her children, Nicholas, Emma, Irena, and Michaela; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones was the devoted sister of Michelle Bukowski and Beth Schneider; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones faithfully served the people of Cook County Government for 20 years; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones began working for the Cook County Highway Department as a summer aide, working and assisting in various divisions of the Department, including Personnel, the Map Division, the Design Bureau, the Permits Division, and the Office of the Superintendent of Highways; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones began working full-time for the Cook County Superintendent of Highways in September 2000 and later assisted in the Design Bureau; and

 

WHEREAS, from 2003 through 2008, Jamie Irene Jones worked for the Cook County Department of Office Technology as an Administrative Assistant to the Director, while also working at the Technology Help Desk and serving as a timekeeper; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones’ talents and dedication led to her move to the Office of the Secretary to the Board in 2008. Jamie Jones would become the face of the Secretary to the Board’s Office to members of the public, Commissioners, and staff; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones faced numerous challenges throughout her battle with cancer; however, she remained determined to persevere with a positive attitude. Surrounded by the support of her family, physicians, and colleagues, she strived to live by the motto, “Make each day meaningful”; and

 

WHEREAS, Jamie Irene Jones leaves behind a legacy defined by her unwavering commitment to her family and community; and

 

WHEREAS, all who knew her will attest that Jamie Irene Jones was a kind and compassionate woman, virtuous in character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by her many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by her family; now, therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family and many friends of Jamie Irene Jones and joins them in sorrow; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and that a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the family of Jamie Irene Jones, that her memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
