Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HAITIAN CONGRESS TO FORTIFY HAITI WHEREAS, Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti was founded in 2006 in the City of Chicago, Illinois, with a vision to mobilize Haitians in the diaspora to strengthen and organize human and material resources to contribute to a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Haiti; and WHEREAS, over the past two decades, the Haitian Congress has fostered collaboration among Haitian diaspora communities, social, legal, cultural, and advocacy organizations, serving as a hub for education, development, relief, and civic engagement; and WHEREAS, the Haitian Congress has undertaken numerous initiatives and programs, including organizing over 25 events from 2006 to the present, sending community relief shipments (such as 40-foot containers), and partnering with multiple Haitian American organizations across the Chicagoland area; and WHEREAS, their leadership has included distinguished Haitian Americans such as Marie...

HONORING THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE HAITIAN CONGRESS TO FORTIFY HAITI

WHEREAS, Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti was founded in 2006 in the City of Chicago, Illinois, with a vision to mobilize Haitians in the diaspora to strengthen and organize human and material resources to contribute to a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Haiti; and

WHEREAS, over the past two decades, the Haitian Congress has fostered collaboration among Haitian diaspora communities, social, legal, cultural, and advocacy organizations, serving as a hub for education, development, relief, and civic engagement; and

WHEREAS, the Haitian Congress has undertaken numerous initiatives and programs, including organizing over 25 events from 2006 to the present, sending community relief shipments (such as 40-foot containers), and partnering with multiple Haitian American organizations across the Chicagoland area; and

WHEREAS, their leadership has included distinguished Haitian Americans such as Marie Lynn Toussaint, Esq. (Chair), Dr. Joel Augustin (Vice Chair), and Ketlie Acacia Luckett (Treasurer), who have guided the organization's mission and growth; and

WHEREAS, the Haitian Congress' work has strengthened ties between diaspora communities and Haiti through advocacy, education, social services, fundraising, and cultural exchange; and

WHEREAS, to commemorate 20 years of service, Haitian Congress to Fortify Haiti is hosting a 20th Anniversary Gala on October 25, 2025, at White Eagle Banquets in the Village of Niles, Illinois, bringing together supporters, community members, and partners to celebrate and renew its commitment; and
