PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING JAVON WATSON AS A CONTRIBUTOR OF URBAN MUSIC
WHEREAS, Javon Watson is a creative musician/vocalist/performer who resides in Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Javon Watson started his musical journey while singing in church as a child. He was raised by loving parents and grew up in a home with two siblings.; and
WHEREAS, His smooth singing style and creativity have given him a reputation that precedes him - truly an amazingly talented artist; and
WHEREAS, he has distinguished himself as a soloist and has performed with some of the most notable musicians in the industry, such as Chaka Khan and Jonathan Butler; and
WHEREAS, Anyone that has ever seen him perform or heard about his ability to entertain large multi-culture audiences knows that he gives his fans an experience they will enjoy and remember forever; and
WHEREAS, Javon closes each performance by acknowledging God as He who allows him to have and share his gift & talent. He deeply believes it would be impossible for him to manifest what you witness with each performance, if he and the God of his understanding weren't working together and
WHEREAS, Javon's humility to his family, band, friends/fans and belief in God give him the will to continue doing what he loves as a performer on stage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, I, Dr Kisha E McCaskill, Cook County Commissioner 5th District on behalf of President Toni Preckwinkle, the Cook County Board of Commissioners and on this date October 23, 2025 do hereby recognize Javon Watson in life as a legendary contributor to the history and legacy of urban music.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be tendered to Javon Watson and a copy is spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body.
