Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING SCHAUMBURG VILLAGE MANAGER BRIAN TOWNSEND FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE WHEREAS, Brian Townsend began his service to Schaumburg Village, when he started as an intern working out of a small space in the basement of Village Hall; and WHEREAS, he stayed on with the Village, later advancing to Assistant Village Manager, until 2005 when he went on to serve as City Administrator for the City of St. Charles; and WHEREAS, during Townsend's tenure in St. Charles the city completed a new fire department headquarters in the downtown St. Charles, remodeled and expanded its public works facility, established a new water treatment facility, completed a new wastewater treatment facility, and upgraded the electric system to enhance reliability; and WHEREAS, Brian then returned to Schaumburg to serve as Schaumburg's Village Manager in August of 2013, and has now held the position for nearly 13 years; and WHEREAS, during his time as Village Manager, Brian has...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

RECOGNIZING SCHAUMBURG VILLAGE MANAGER BRIAN TOWNSEND FOR 25 YEARS OF SERVICE

 

WHEREAS, Brian Townsend began his service to Schaumburg Village, when he started as an intern working out of a small space in the basement of Village Hall; and 

 

WHEREAS, he stayed on with the Village, later advancing to Assistant Village Manager, until 2005 when he went on to serve as City Administrator for the City of St. Charles; and 

 

WHEREAS, during Townsend’s tenure in St. Charles the city completed a new fire department headquarters in the downtown St. Charles, remodeled and expanded its public works facility, established a new water treatment facility, completed a new wastewater treatment facility, and upgraded the electric system to enhance reliability; and 

 

WHEREAS, Brian then returned to Schaumburg to serve as Schaumburg’s Village Manager in August of 2013, and has now held the position for nearly 13 years; and 

 

WHEREAS, during his time as Village Manager, Brian has been vital to improvements including transforming an abandoned hot dog stand on Algonquin Road from an eyesore to an attractive northeastern gateway to Schaumburg; and 

 

WHEREAS, he was also essential in working with the County to relocate its Department of Transportation and Highways location and working to transform that building into part of Schaumburg’s Entertainment District; and 

 

WHEREAS, at the February 24th Village Board meeting, Village Manager Brian Townsend was recognized for 25 years of dedicated service to the Village of Schaumburg; and 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby congratulate and thank Schaumburg Village Manager Brian Townsend on his 25 years of dedicated public service; and 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and suitable copies be tendered to Brian Townsend.
