PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING THE RETIREMENT OF TIM CASEY AND HONORING HIS 30 YEARS OF DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE
WHEREAS, Tim Casey has devoted three (3) decades of exemplary service to the residents of Cook County, beginning his career in public service in 1993 and joining Cook County Government in 1996; and
WHEREAS, Tim Casey earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from Purdue University and a Master's degree in Public Service Management from DePaul University, equipping him with the knowledge and commitment necessary to serve the public with distinction; and
WHEREAS, Tim Casey began his career as an Appropriations Analyst for the Illinois Senate Democrats under Democratic Leader Emil Jones, Jr., where he gained invaluable experience in legislative and fiscal matters; and
WHEREAS, from 1996 to 2007, Tim Casey served in the Office of the Cook County Board President under President John H. Stroger, Jr., including his final five (5) years as head of Intergovernmental Affairs, where he successfully led initiatives in Springfield securing $100 million in bonding authority for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, the Brookfield Zoo, and the Chicago Botanic Garden; and
WHEREAS, from 2007 to 2013, Tim Casey served as Coordinator of Intergovernmental Affairs for the Cook County Law Library under Executive Law Librarian Bennie Martin and President's Todd Stroger and Toni Preckwinkle, where he played a key role in maintaining the newly codified County Code and led the important project of codifying the Ordinances of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County into a comprehensive Forest Preserve District Code; and
WHEREAS, from 2013 to 2026, Tim Casey served in the Office of the Secretary to the Board of Commissioners under Secretaries Matthew B. DeLeon and Lynne M. Turner, where he was instrumental in modernizing legislative processes as the system administrator for the legislative management system, Legistar, and ultimately served as Legisla...
