Title: PROPOSED ORDINANCE PREVENTING THE DETENTION OF JUVENILES UNDER THE AGE OF 13 BE IT ORDAINED, by the Cook County Board of Commissioners that Chapter 46, Law Enforcement, Sec. 46-4 be enacted as follows: Sec. 46-4. - Detention of Juveniles (a) Placement of a minor away from his or her home must be the last resort and be the least restrictive alternative available. (b) An individual under 13 years of age shall not be admitted, kept, detained or committed to the Cook County Jail or the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. Effective date: This ordinance shall be in effect immediately upon adoption.

PREVENTING THE DETENTION OF JUVENILES UNDER THE AGE OF 13

 

BE IT ORDAINED, by the Cook County Board of Commissioners that Chapter 46, Law Enforcement, Sec. 46-4 be enacted as follows:

 

Sec. 46-4. - Detention of Juveniles

 

(a) Placement of a minor away from his or her home must be the last resort and be the least restrictive alternative available.

 

(b) An individual under 13 years of age shall not be admitted, kept, detained or committed to the Cook County Jail or the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.

 

Effective date: This ordinance shall be in effect immediately upon adoption.
