PROPOSED RESOLUTION
IN CELEBRATION OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF COMMISSIONER ELIZABETH 'LIZ' GORMAN
WHEREAS, the members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners; wishes to recognize the outstanding decades of public service of Commissioner Elizabeth "Liz" Gorman; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Elizabeth "Liz" Gorman is a proven leader in government and the private industries. She has earned her MBA from the University of Notre Dame and an undergraduate marketing degree at St. Mary's University of Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Gorman is a former member of the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC), which is now commonly known as the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP). A former Cook County and Forest Preserve Commissioner of the 17th District for 13years, and most recently served as the director of state and local government at PricewaterhouseCoopers; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Gorman, after demonstrating great leadership and success in the public and the private sector, the Board of Directors of the Illinois Tollway named her Executive Director of the Illinois Tollway, Wednesday February 21, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors, in their infinite wisdom selected Commissioner Gorman, valuing her years of experience, ability to advocate for economic opportunities, overseeing betterment projects for communities, and galvanizing support to create solutions that build positive working relationships across the County of Cook; and
WHEREAS, her dedication to the constituency of the County of Cook, it is only fitting that this adulation be shared publicly among her colleagues, friends, and community; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the County of Cook Board of Commissioners congratulates the esteemed Commissioner Elizabeth 'Liz' Gorman on her new role as Executive Director of the Illinois Tollway; and
