Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING SIMON WIESENTHAL CENTER MIDWEST OFFICE WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office plays a leadership role in the efforts to fight hate crimes, discrimination, bigotry and intolerance against all communities locally; and WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office was inspired by the work of Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal, who made it his life's mission to hold Nazis accountable for their crimes after World War II; and WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office seeks partnerships with local organizations throughout Cook County to further its mission of protecting people of all backgrounds from discrimination; and WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office has played a key role in educating a new generation of residents about the impact of hate and the importance of tolerance locally and globally; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the r...

WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office plays a leadership role in the efforts to fight hate crimes, discrimination, bigotry and intolerance against all communities locally; and

 

WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office was inspired by the work of Holocaust survivor Simon Wiesenthal, who made it his life’s mission to hold Nazis accountable for their crimes after World War II; and

 

WHEREAS, the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office seeks partnerships with local organizations throughout Cook County to further its mission of protecting people of all backgrounds from discrimination; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, recognizes the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office for its work and essential contribution to the health and viability of Cook County; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy of same be presented to the Simon Wiesenthal Center Midwest Office.
