Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE LIFE OF DAVID WAYNE HIRSCHBOECK WHEREAS, David Wayne Hirschboeck passed away April 11, 2018; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was a career Cook County Assistant Public Defender; and WHEREAS, for thirty years, from 1973 to 2003, Mr. Hirschboeck proudly, tirelessly and without hesitation represented those underserved individuals who could not afford to hire their own attorneys; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck served as a teacher, supervisor, mentor and an inspiration to younger and less-experienced attorneys in the Cook County Public Defenders Office; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck served as an attorney in every division of the Public Defenders Office and in every courthouse in the Cook County Public; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was initially assigned as an attorney to the Appellate Division; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was later assigned as an attorney to the Juvenile Division; and WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck eventually he was assigne...

REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE LIFE OF DAVID WAYNE HIRSCHBOECK

WHEREAS, David Wayne Hirschboeck passed away April 11, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was a career Cook County Assistant Public Defender; and

WHEREAS, for thirty years, from 1973 to 2003, Mr. Hirschboeck proudly, tirelessly and without hesitation represented those underserved individuals who could not afford to hire their own attorneys; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck served as a teacher, supervisor, mentor and an inspiration to younger and less-experienced attorneys in the Cook County Public Defenders Office; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck served as an attorney in every division of the Public Defenders Office and in every courthouse in the Cook County Public; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was initially assigned as an attorney to the Appellate Division; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was later assigned as an attorney to the Juvenile Division; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck eventually he was assigned as an attorney to the Felony Trial Division where he became a member of the Murder Task Force; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck served as a supervisor in the Juvenile and Felony Trial Divisions; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was a 1965 high school graduate of Fenwick High School in Oak Park, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was a 1969 college graduate of Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana, where he was a boxer competing in Notre Dame's Bengal Bouts boxing matches; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was a 1972 law school graduate of The Georgetown School of Law in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was the father of three children, Rebecca, Johanna, and Peter; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Hirschboeck was married to Stephanie who was also a thirty year Cook County Assistant Public Defender; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, on behalf of the 5.2 million residents of Cook County commemorates the extraordinary life of ...
