PROPOSED RESOLUTION
JOHN P “JACK” CASTO, IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has called John P. “Jack” Casto from our midst; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was the beloved life partner of the Cathy Clancy Szul; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was loved as a father by Richard, Beau (Lauren), Dave and Nick (Gigi); and
WHEREAS John P. “Jack” Casto was loved as a grandpa by Lyla; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was the loving son of the late Sam and Mary Murphy Casto; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was loved as a brother by Ken (the late Diane), Bill (Rebecca), Carl (Regina) Courtrigth and Carol (Larry) Sterling and Bill and Ann McGann; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was a proud South Sider who was raised in the Christ the King Parish in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was a graduate of Mt Carmel High School and an active member of the school’s alumni community; and
WHEREAS, John P. “Jack” Casto was the one-time owner and longtime bartender at Ken’s on Western Avenue where he was known for his wonderful storytelling and generous personality; and
WHEREAS, all who knew him will attest that John P. “Jack” Casto was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family of John P. “Jack” Casto and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the family of John P. “Jack” Casto so that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
