PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CELEBRATING THE LIFE AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF EILEEN COGLIANESE
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Cook County Board of Commissioners that Eileen Coglianese made her transition to eternal life on March 4, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Elizabeth (nee Coad) Coglianese was the beloved wife of the late Edmond P. Coglianese, a Chicago Fire Department Lieutenant who died in the Line of Duty on January 26th, 1986; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Coglianese was the devoted and loving mother of Allyson Coglianese and Matthew (Cynthia) Coglianese; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Coglianese was the loving DeeDee (grandmother) of Sophia Eileen and Isabel June; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Coglianese was the dearest sister of MaryRose (Guido) Balassone, Geraldine (late Michael) Howe, Kathleen (Robert) Turek, Bernadette (James) Hughes, Rosella (Karl) Lichtenstein and cherished sister-in-law of Mary Hoeh and Terrie Coglianese; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Coglianese was the founding member and president of the Chicago Fire Department Gold Badge Society which assisted families coping with line-of-duty deaths; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Coglianese’s work with the Chicago Fire Department’s Gold Badge Society led to the creation of a memorial park dedicated to fallen firefighters and paramedics at 2300 S. Ft. Dearborn Dr., near the McCormick Place Lakeside Center; and
WHERAS, Eileen Coglianese served as an Advisory Committee Member of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) Memorial in Emmitsburg, Md and helped with the NFFF Fire Hero Family program which supports grieving families; and
WHEREAS, all who knew her will attest that Eileen Coglianese was a kind and compassionate woman, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by her many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by her family; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its sympathy to the family of Eileen Coglianese; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the family of Eileen Coglianese.end
