Hammond is married to Alvin Hammond Sr, and they will celebrate 32 years of marital bliss in August of 2022; and WHEREAS, Tina L. PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

HONORING TINA L. HAMMOND FOR HER LEADERSHIP AND DEDICATION FOR TRANSFORMING LIVES IN THE WEST ENGLEWOOD COMMUNITY THROUGH COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

 

WHEREAS, Tina L. Hammond has been a resident in the West Englewood community for 46 years and a homeowner for 20 years; and

 

WHEREAS, Tina L. Hammond is a graduate of Kennedy King College in 2001 with honors with an Associates in Applied Science in Child Development; and

 

WHEREAS, Tina L. Hammond is married to Alvin Hammond Sr, and they will celebrate 32 years of marital bliss in August of 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, Tina L. Hammond has volunteered in various organizations such as but not limited to: Time 2136, RAGE, The Rise Foundation, Voices of West Englewood, Alderman David Moore’s Office and Stay Lit, and Think Outside the Box; and

 

WHEREAS, Tina’s passion is to teach our future generation began as an employee for private Daycare providers including Ada S. McKinley and Catholic Charities; and

 

WHEREAS, Tina began operating her own home daycare in June 2007 to assist residents in the West Englewood community where she also serves as a mentor; and

 

WHEREAS, Through the City of Chicago dollar lot program, Tina and Alvin Hammond created The Promise Land which is a space beautiful designed where children she is entrusted to take care can play and she can also host events; and

 

WHEREAS, Tina L. Hammond motto is “Englewood deserves beautiful spaces to look at and the Promise Land lot is one of those spaces”; and

 

WHEREAS, Cook County hereby recognizes and congratulates Mrs. Tina L. Hammond for transforming lives through Community Engagement.

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Dennis Deer Cook County Commissioner of the 2nd County District and on behalf of President Toni Preckwinkle and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, in addition to the 5.2 million residents of Cook County do hereby honor Ms. Tina L. Hammond for her Leadership, and Dedication for Transforming Lives in the West Englewood Community Through Community Engagement.

 

THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution is tendered to Ms. Tina L. Hammond and a suitable copy be spread upon the official proceedings of this honorable body recognizing this occasion
