JAMES CHMURA, IN MEMORIAM

 

WHEREAS, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, called James Chmura from our midst on January 11, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, James Chmura was the devoted husband of Barbara (nee Moore) Chmura; and

 

WHEREAS, James Chmura was the beloved father of Matthew and Ryan Chmura; and

WHEREAS, James Chmura, born on April 17, 1951, was the dear son of the late Philip and the late Michaeline Chmura; and

WHEREAS, James Chmura served as Village President of Norridge from May 1, 2013, until his retirement on June 30, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, prior to being elected village president, James Chmura served as administrative assistant to the village president for five years, and as treasurer/financial director for fifteen years; and

 

WHEREAS, in addition to these important village positions, James Chmura served on the Police Pension Fund Board of Directors; and

 

WHEREAS, James Chmura loved his community and was dedicated to and proud of the Village of Norridge; and

 

WHEREAS, James Chmura was a great mentor to many; and

 

WHEREAS, James Chmura coached countless children in the Norridge Youth Activities program; and

 

WHEREAS, James Chmura gave both his time and support to many other organizations throughout his community, including the Seniors Assistance Center and Norridge Cares; and

 

WHEREAS, above all, James Chmura was known for his deep love and dedication to his family.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby extend its deepest condolences to the family of James Chmura; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and that a suitable copy of this resolution be tendered to the family of James Chmura so that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
