Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION CELEBRATING NATIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK AND THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF CATHOLIC SCHOOL EDUCATORS AND STAFF FOR THEIR DEDICATION TO THEIR STUDENTS WHEREAS, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States; and, WHEREAS, typically, schools observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and community members; and, WHEREAS, through the events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contribution to our communities and, WHEREAS, this year National Catholic Schools Week ran from January 30th to February 5th; and, WHEREAS, over the course of the pandemic, Catholic school educators and staff have responded to the needs of their students, who have been impacted by the trauma of the pandemic; and, WHEREAS, Catholic school educators and staff have focused a significant portion of their curriculum on service to th...

CELEBRATING NATIONAL CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK AND THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF CATHOLIC SCHOOL EDUCATORS AND STAFF FOR THEIR DEDICATION TO THEIR STUDENTS

 

WHEREAS, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States; and,

 

WHEREAS, typically, schools observe the annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and community members; and,

 

WHEREAS, through the events, schools focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contribution to our communities and,

 

WHEREAS, this year National Catholic Schools Week ran from January 30th to February 5th; and,

 

WHEREAS, over the course of the pandemic, Catholic school educators and staff have responded to the needs of their students, who have been impacted by the trauma of the pandemic; and,

 

WHEREAS, Catholic school educators and staff have focused a significant portion of their curriculum on service to the community, particularly around the needs of community members devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic; and,

 

WHEREAS, there are over ten Catholic schools located in the Tenth District of Cook County, Illinois; and,

 

WHEREAS, Catholic Schools remain foundational in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Cook County Board of Commissioners and residents of Cook County celebrate National Catholic Schools Week and the contributions of Catholic school educators and staff for their dedication to their students.
