PROPOSED RESOLUTION
A RESOLUTION HONORING HITESH GANDHI
WHEREAS, the month of May is recognized as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month; and
WHEREAS, Cook County celebrates the vast contributions made by Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in our communities; and
WHEREAS, Hitesh Gandhi works in healthcare at Loretto Hospital; and
WHEREAS, he is active in the current fight against COVID-19 and is doing brave work on the frontlines of this crisis; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gandhi is part of Loretto Hospital’s Task Force Team Against Coronovirus; and
WHEREAS, his work against coronavirus included helping to train over 800 employees on how to combat the virus and stay safe; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gandhi’s work also included acquiring PPE and food for employees at the hospital; and
WHEREAS, he has served in many leadership capacities with the non-profit organization, Gandhi Samaj of Chicago, including currently serving as President; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Gandhi joined FIA (Federation of Indian Associations) in 2013 and is currently serving as executive Vice President; and
WHEREAS, Cook County’s strength is in its diverse leaders helping their communities and that is evident with Mr. Gandhi; and
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby honor Mr. Hitesh Gandhi for the outstanding work he does in Cook County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Hitesh Gandhi.
